Enrolments for our 2021 drama workshops are now open!
Théâtre Excentrique started their drama workshops for adults 6 years ago, first in their rehearsal space in Botany, then in Redfern.
After Commedia dell’Arte and Actors’ Studio technique, we will focus this year on Physical Theatre and Body Expression.
The workshops will be held by Anna Jahjah, drama teacher and director of Theatre Excentrique. There will also be 2 to 4 interventions by drama teacher and actor Alison Windsor, who studied body expression extensively at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris.
We will use warm-up exercises, games, improvisations and short scenes to learn the techniques as we go.
Our ultimate goal? A full-length play in front of a friendly audience, performed 3 nights in a row!

PRACTICAL DETAILS
Dates: 1 March to end June 2021
Duration: 18 sessions every Monday evening, 7 pm to 9.30 pm (2h30 per session)
Maximum participants: 12
Location: Uniting Church Sydney, 56A Raglan St, Redfern
10 min walk to Redfern Station, 5 min walk to bus stops (M20, 309, 310, 343), plenty of free parking around
Course fees: $580 for 18 sessions ($13 per hour). Also includes 1 rehearsal + 3 performances in a theatre, at the end of the 18 sessions.
